Smart Toilets: Luxury & Technology Combined in Your Bathroom

In the world of modern home design, every detail is an opportunity to blend functionality with luxury. The bathroom, once a purely utilitarian space, has become a sanctuary...and at the heart of that sanctuary, technology is making a profound difference. The smart toilet is no longer a futuristic concept; it's a reality that redefines personal hygiene, comfort, and convenience.

For us at Ekon Bath, offering smart toilets is about providing our East Texas clients with a truly "first-class" experience. It’s an investment in a bathroom that not only looks incredible but also serves you in ways you never thought possible, all while seamlessly integrating into a beautiful design.

Let's look into some of the incredible features that make smart toilets a must-have for your next bathroom remodel or a simple update.

Integrated Bidet Functionality

This is the core feature of a smart toilet. Unlike bidet seats that attach to an existing unit, an integrated bidet is a seamless part of the toilet's design. This provides superior hygiene with customizable settings for water temperature, pressure, and spray angle. Many models even include a warm air dryer, eliminating the need for toilet paper. This is a level of cleanliness and comfort that elevates your daily routine and aligns with a cleaner, more sustainable lifestyle.

Automated & Touch-Free Convenience

Imagine a toilet that anticipates your needs. Smart toilets often come equipped with a range of automated features that make your life easier:

  • Motion-Activated Lids: The lid automatically opens as you approach and closes when you walk away.
  • Automatic Flush: A sensor-based system ensures the toilet flushes automatically after each use.
  • Self-Cleaning Nozzles: The bidet wand cleans itself before and after each use, ensuring a hygienic experience every time.

These touch-free functions not only provide convenience but also enhance the overall cleanliness of your bathroom.

Unmatched Comfort and Personalization

A smart toilet is designed to serve you in every way. The comfort features are a game-changer, especially during those cold East Texas mornings.

  • Heated Seats: The toilet seat can be adjusted to your perfect temperature, providing warmth and comfort year-round.
  • Night Lights: Built-in LED lighting gently illuminates the bowl, providing a soft glow for nighttime use without the need to turn on harsh overhead lights.
  • Personalized Settings: Many smart toilets can save multiple user profiles, remembering your preferred settings for water temperature and pressure.

At Ekon Bath, we believe in a holistic design philosophy. A smart toilet isn't just an item to check off a list; it's a centerpiece of a bathroom built for modern living. It’s a perfect example of how the right technology, when thoughtfully integrated, can make your home a more comfortable, luxurious, and functional space for years to come.

Can you turn a 1980s bathtub into a luxury Art Deco shower? Yes. By combining custom architectural arches, high-flow plumbing for 13 water outlets, and specialized "aging-in-place" safety features, you can transform a dated bathroom into a spa-like "rainforest" sanctuary that increases home value and personal comfort. The Vision: More Than Just a Bathroom When I first met Griff Hubbard through the Rotary Club of Longview, I knew his project would be special. Griff is a man of history, particularly railroad history, and his home reflects that soul. He didn't just want a new shower; he wanted the "crowning achievement" of his home—a space that felt like an Art Deco rainforest. To truly understand Griff’s vision, I did something most contractors don't: I listened to his railroad history podcasts. This allowed us to build a design that wasn't just functional, but deeply personal. Engineering the "Rainforest" Experience The centerpiece of this transformation is the "Rainforest" shower system. To achieve this level of luxury, we had to overcome significant technical hurdles: 13 Water Outlets: We installed a massive array of body sprayers and the largest rain head Ekon Bath has ever commissioned. High-Volume Plumbing: Most older homes aren't built for this much water. We coordinated with specialists to ensure the water pressure and hot water capacity could handle the "rainforest" flow. Custom Art Deco Hardware: When standard handles didn't fit the 1920s aesthetic, we sourced custom hardware and even had a machine shop create a bespoke Art Deco drain cover. Design Details: Where History Meets Luxury Griff’s bathroom is a masterclass in Art Deco design . We replaced the standard square shower entry with a striking architectural archway . This creates a sense of "arriving" at a destination rather than just stepping into a shower. We also prioritized "Aging in Space" —a core value at Ekon Bath. While the shower looks like a high-end spa, it secretly includes reinforced support behind the walls for future safety features, ensuring Griff can enjoy this sanctuary for the next 40 years. The Ekon "Red Carpet" Experience At Ekon Bath, we believe the process should be as beautiful as the result. For Griff, that meant: Daily Cleanliness: We vacuumed and dusted every single afternoon so Griff could live comfortably during the renovation. Above and Beyond: To finish the job, we didn't just clean the bathroom; we power-washed his back patio to leave his entire home better than we found it.
